My Testimony
I'm just a regular teenager. I go to school, hang out with friends, love sports. I went to church and had served, and I was a Christian, but I never just had that longing for God. Then I started reading a book called Warrior Girl, about Joan of Arc. It reallly hit me hard, and I started getting more involved in church, and read the Bible every day, and just started knowing God. It's amazing. I've started trying to advance in my faith every day and have been praying for God to help me grow in Him so I can start acting out His plan for me. That's what led me to this blog.(:
To get closer and deeper to God, every day I try to pray as much as possible. The best way for me is to sit down for a few hours to pray and medidate on a few verses. Or I will listen to Christian music and get pumped up to worship that way. Whatever I do, I always try to put God first. The biggest caution I face is not to put legalism into it. Like 'Oh, I have to pray for at least an hour or I'm not a good Christian' or 'I can't go and grab a snack and interrupt praying'. God just wants to talk to you and move in you. He doesn't care what you're doing. That and really learning what God's plan is for me is what I just accomplished lately!
The thing is, I'm still a normal teenager. I still go to school, hang out with friends, and love sports. I still do all of that, I just try to do all of that and have God shine through in every way. I put God first, but I still have my old life, too. God WANTS you to have relationships with other people, and have fun. He just wants to be your priority. The morale: God needs to be first. And when He is, its amazing. Just know that that doesn't mean you'll never go to a football game again, or go to the mall. You just get an amazing relationship with God and do what you're made to do.(:
