*Keys to Happiness* Be Strong Through God and Rely on Him

Be Strong Through God and Rely on Him

Philippians 4:13 For I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Everyone has had those days. The days where you don't have the energy or strength do deal with everyday things. Others have extraordinary circumstances where you don't have enough strength or energy any day to handle what is thrown at you. So where do you get it?

Colossians 1:10-12 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: ... being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father...

Simply, our strength comes from God. The all-knowing, powerful, capable God. There is nothing God can't control. He made everything, so can't He handle it? When we call on Jesus to save us we automatically recieve God's power to work in His name. By ourselves, we are helpless. God knows everything that happened, is going on and will happen. Every event that takes place is in God's plan for a reason. We just have to trust God and know He will handle it.

1 Corinthians 16:13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage, be strong.

Philippians 3:7-12 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ and to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

God gives us challenges as opportunities to act His plan and spread His word. Not to torture us or make us suffer. He loved us enough to send His only Son to die for us, and sometimes to help others realize Christ He asks us to share a little in Christ's sufferings. To quote the LifeChurch pastor Craig Groeschel, "Turn your misery into your ministry." Use everything God gives you and thank Him for it, turning it with Him into a beautiful opportunity.

Romans 8:18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

To add on to that, scripture also says that for whatever sufferings and hardships we endure on earth, we recieve more and more glory and blessings in Heaven. Compared to Heaven, earth is just a breath. To be able to be before God, actually in His presence, overcome in awe and passion, don't you want to say I suffered for you. Loving like you, suffering so others may know Jesus?

Psalm 34:19 A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

The great news is that we're not alone. God gives us His strength, pacience and power to persevere through our cirumstances, realizing the Heavenly beauty of it and expressing His love every day. Most of the challenges He gives us we can't handle on our own. But with God helping us, what can't we do?

Romans 8:28 For we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

With little problems, though, humans tend to get a little carried away and try to handle things ourselves. Even in perfect times of peace, we must always be looking to Jesus for guidance and find our strength in God. Distancing ourselves comes from pride, which scripture says is the way to destruction. Always look to God, for when Jesus saved you He became part of you that will never leave. Feed off of God's limitless power, and the ways and roads become straight and clear.
